Cricut Craftroom Exculsive 3D Ornaments

So... On Wednesday I jumped on Cricut.com to see what new cartridge we could cut for FREE this week. I have to say I was disappointed to find it had not been  updated. Of course I waited till Thursday but still no change. Today I got on there and STILL no new cartridge.

That made me decide to just take a look and see what was on Craft Room. So I logged onto CCR and took a look at the CCR Exclusives. The 3D Bows are not available free any longer and and instead 3D Ornaments is free. Not sure where the glitch is. Maybe it's me... LOL! Here's what you get to do this week.

So maybe you aren't ready for Christmas decor yet. I know I'm not. So I went searching for some ideas. You can find everything you need at Cricut.com. I did a quick search in their projects library and found this. I thought it was more appropriate for the season.

These are all made with the 3D Ornaments Cartridge that you can use for FREE this week. And of course... I fear spiders....  (yes, even paper ones). SOOOOO.... he's out. I think the little pumpkin ornament is adorable. So I think I'll make him. Click on the pics and it will take you to Cricut.com for all the details you need to make each of them.

Click below for the Digtial Handbook. This will help tell you how to put your ornaments together as well. Very useful.
So that lead me to another cool thing that I learned today. Many of you may already know, but for those of you who don't... they have full directions for each of these projects. They provide a PDF file with complete instructions that you can print out. They even take it a step further and include a CCR file for you. All you have to do is download the file and open it in your CCR. How easy is that!!!! Then all you have to do is get the paper ready.

If you are ready for some Christmas decor... or just want to get some cut while the cartridge is free... I found some more cool projects online using this cartridge. Check these photos out. Just click on the pic and a window will open separately taking you to the authors page.

Typecast Creative. Author: Curt Jensen

This one I thought was an interesting piece of home decor. I wouldn't have thought of this. I found this on the HSN website. Jinger Adams is the creator.

Enjoy this weeks FREE Cartridge.

Cricut Craftroom Exclusives - Cut free for a week!

How are you guys loving what Cricut is doing with giving us images to cut FREE for a week? I think it's great! I'm loving it. You get the opportunity to try out new cartridges without having to buy it. There's just something about getting to cut stuff out that changes your view on a cartridge. Here is what you get to cut out FREE this week.

This is Cricut Craftroom Exclusive Bookmark - Classics.

To check out all 6 of the images on this digital exclusive click on the image abover or HERE. You can make some great bookmarks with these. This is available FREE through September 19th.

So... are you new to Cricut Craftroom? Or has it been a while since you have been on there? Things are changing fast. I have the software downloaded on both my iMac and my PC. Usually I just log on there. But recently my husband got me a new laptop. I was kinda in a hurry because I had a friend over and I just wanted to show her what CCR does. You used to be able to work online and "create only" without the ability to "cut" unless you were using the downloaded software. When I tried to enter the CCR I couldn't find the button. I looked and looked. I swore I was overlooking it. But... after searching later I found that this button no longer exists. Instead you just need to download the software and you can move right along. I miss this feature. But... I will survive.

But... if you don't have the program installed you can't go and check out the above FREE images. So lets go through the steps.

1) First you will need to go to the Cricut site. Click HERE or visit www.cricut.com.
This will give you the opportunity to do many things. You will be able to shop for Cricut products, join the Cricut Community, search samples, find "how-to" videos, see great projects with instructions and of course, you'll find Cricut Craft Room.

2) Secondly, you have two options. You can click on the "Craft Room" tab on the top right hand corner. This will take you to the CCR page and give you more information on it. This is also where you will find the download button for the software. If you don't have a Cricut.com account you will be directed to create one.
OR... instead of clicking on the "Craft Room" tab you can scroll down the page. You'll find featured projects, featured cartridges and most importantly, a big red box that says "Cut it Free for a week". Here is where you will find the exclusive cartridges that are available to cut for FREE.

3) Third... once you have found the FREE images for the week... you can look at the digital handbook (I've given you a link above, just click on the image). This will show you all the different images available for the cartridge. You will also find a project along with instructions to make the project. So not only are they providing you with Free images to cut... they are giving you a project to make.

I don't know about you... but I think this is great. I totally plan on making some of these bookmarks. And each week I plan on coming back and checking out the new images. Check back here each Wednesday to keep up to date on the latest images. I'm hoping to be able to share with you a project each week. But let me get back on the swing of things. I still owe you guys a video on the Cricut Expression 2. Hope to get that up before next Wednesday.

Have a great weekend!

Cricut CraftRoom Exclusives

Hello Cricut Lovers!
I've been gone for a while and I'm excited about what I found out recently. While I've been on a hiatus I haven't been on my Cricut much. I've used it when I needed and mostly I didn't use CraftRoom.
While making some projects for VBS I did use CCR. While searching for some images I saw "Banners" highlighted. If you aren't very familiar with how CCR works, when you have a cartridge linked to your account or any cartridges that are available to use for free are highlighted. These are the ones you can actually design AND cut with. I moved on though and didn't really put much thought into it.
About a week later I received a question on one of my YouTube videos about how to use the "FREE" images of the week.

TOTALLY COOL!!! Cricut has started having "Free this week". So every week they offer images that are free to use for the week. Here is this weeks images.

How cool is that! These are great. It makes me excited to see what they come up with each week. And I can't wait to get on CCR and make some cuts. These will be great for cards, scrapbooks and other paper crafts... like home decor. It's great! This is going to be great motivation to get on CCR and use my Cricut on a weekly basis.

Ok.... So I had this post all ready and then I wanted to check something out. See the FOUR images above? Those aren't all the images. So go check it out. Get on Cricut CraftRoom and look in "My Cartridges". You will find these images under "Classroom - October & November". Also... here's a link. Check it out.

And... just to make it easier... here's a pic. May be a little hard to see so follow the link for better view.

What about you? What do you think? I'd love for you to share what you decide to make with these free images!

Some Down Time

Well... we had some pretty big storms go through on Sunday evening. No tornado but strong enough winds and hail to make you think there had been one. More than that... enough trees down to look like it. We got hit the worst in our neighborhood. Lots of big limbs from a huge water maple tree in our back yard. We have them on our garage, in our driveway and all over our yard. We took a nice little hit to our electric as well. The meter box was ripped off our house.

What does all this have to do with My Cricut Closet? Well... There won't be any. I am lucky enough to have some great friends that are putting me and my family up till we get the electric back on. They let me get on their computer too so I can update things and make sure I can check in with my customers. Once we get our electric up and running and get the mess cleaned up I'll be back. There is nothing like not being able to use your Cricut's to make you desire to use them even more. LOL!

Have a great week!

Slight delay on Cricut Expression 2 Series and Yard Sale Haul

Ok... So I'm not really a perfectionist... and my videos show that... LOL! But, there is a time when what you have is just not good enough and you have to start over. After going over the footage I have from Part 2 of my Cricut Expression Video i realized that it was just not going to work. It was WAY too long and when I tried to edit it down it just made it even worse. So... I have to start over.

Just a little info... you may have read this before but I named my blog after my craft room. It was a closet in our upstairs that I "sort of" redid (it's still not done). It's maybe 5 feet wide and 8-10 feet long. It has a slanted ceiling on one side and an attic access on one wall that limits my abilities. Also... it is very HOT Our whole upstairs is just not cooling off. My daughter has been sleeping downstairs in her brothers room because her room is so hot. I had some chocolate on my table that my DH got me last night and it is really soft and melty. So some of my time up here is limited depending on the time of day. I'd love to shoot the video right now... however... my husband is gone and I am home with the 3 and 5 year olds. They are being very good but laughing and having a great time. Once they go to bed I may give it a shot.

However... until then... I have this video to share with you. Whenever my husband and I go to Ohio to visit friends I always have to make a stop at my favorite scrapbook store, Crop N Stop. I love it! However, they had to close. They had a big yard sale after the big store closing and I wasn't able to make it to that because it was being held the following weekend of our trip. BUT... the wonderful owners gave me their address and let me come over and check things out. I wanted to share with you this video of what I bought while I was there. I had a limited amount of cash and that's all they were accepting so I wasn't able to go hog wild. However I found this little deal and wanted to share it with  you.

I had brought the items home from the yard sale and basically put them somewhere and then forgot about them. I have a craft show that I'm doing next weekend and there are a few things that I was going to purchase. I remembered that I had got this at the yard sale and went searching for it. It wasn't too hard to find.

Tell me what you think? There are a lot of misc little items. Do you think I got a good deal or do you think I paid too much?

Cricut Craftroom Video Series

Hello my fellow Cricut lovers. As you may know I am currently working on a video series for the Cricut Expression 2. I'm pretty excited about it. Every since I got my E2 back from Provo Craft I have just been cutting away with it. Loving it!!!
Anyhow... my previous video series was on Cricut Craftroom. After playing around in CCR a couple of weeks ago the program kept crashing and then eventually crashed my computer. NOW... to be fair... it may not have had anything to do with CCR. But because I was so frustrated with CCR crashing I just haven't been on there and plus I've just been too busy with my E2. However... I have a couple of projects that I'll be creating and I wanted to use CCR for them. So I'll be playing around with it again. While I'm not planning on abandoning my E2 series... I'll be adding some things in there like a couple of CCR videos. SO... what would you like to see? Any techniques that you are interested in? I had a request for Mothers Day card the other day but time got away from me.

In the meantime... I have created a playlist of my past CCR videos on YouTube. Here is the link. If you are new and would like to watch the series from the beginning I hope this link is helpful. And if you have seen them and just need a refresher... here  they are. Enjoy! And I hope to hear from you. I'd love to be overwhelmed with all sorts of comments and requests. :)

Don't forget... the Craftroom is compatible with all the Cricut machines. :)

Cricut Expression 2 Video Series

YEAH!!! Finally! I'm so excited! I was able to get my latest video uploaded to YouTube and it's ready to go. I  had to ship my Cricut Expression 2 Anniversary Edition off to Provo Craft to fix. They couldn't fix it so they sent me a new one. Of course there are no more Anniversary Editions but they sent me a brand new E2. I got it back a couple of weeks ago and last week I made a couple of videos... only problem... I couldn't get them uploaded to YouTube. First my iMac died. That's where I edit all my videos and upload them. Then the software that I USED to love on my laptop wouldn't work. Finally I was able to edit the video and upload it... but for some reason it wouldn't work. My DH finally fixed my iMac and today I was able to upload to YouTube. YEAH!!! I actually already had Part 2 of this video filmed and edited. But that file is corrupted and unable to be saved. SOOOO.... I'm working on a re-make of Part 2 today. I've got it filmed and now I just need to edit and upload. Wish me luck! And enjoy the video.

Now is a good time to make any special requests or suggestions. This video series is going to include all the features of the E2 and will be complete with a project. If there is anything that you would like for me to work on or anything you want me to make sure I include... now is the time to let me know. I look forward to your comments and feedback!

Upcoming Cricut Expression 2 Series

Hello Crafters!

I created a video for you... actually TWO! BUT... it seems like I've been a danger to all the electronics including computers, in my house over the last two weeks. First my van was shorting, then my dishwasher broke, my dryer, my Wii, DVD player, and then my iMac. My iMac is where I edit and create my videos once they are filmed. I was so happy to have gotten two videos done... then my iMac died. :( Sooo. I tried to use a program that I used to use. Well... that appeared to work at first. I created the video and had it ready to upload. My laptop said that it would take over 175 hours to upload. I patiently waited for an hour at which time it had 9% done and stopped progressing.
Good news... my husband got my iMac working. YEAH FOR MY DH!!! Now I just need to import the video to that computer and re-edit the video. UGH!

Once I get all that done... I'll have two new videos for you. I'm starting a series on the Cricut Expression 2. I'm really excited. I also have a few cartridges that I'd like to explore with you. My new FAVORITE cartridge is Art Philosophy. I can't believe how awesome it is. In my first video I show you basics of the E2 and in the second I show you a project using Art Philosophy so that you can take the basics and and put them into practice. I can't wait to share my videos with you! The plan is to have them up for you tomorrow.

In the mean time... any suggestions? Questions? Comments? I'd love to hear what YOU would like to see from this new series.

Also... for you digital scrapbookers... I'm a huge fan of My Digital Studio. Click here for their newest downloads. If you haven't tried MDS... you can try it FREE for 30 days to see how you like it. One of the great things about MDS... you can use any of their downloads in other programs, such as Photoshop. It's so stinkin awesome! Here's the link for your free trial.

Here's a layout I created using MDS...

Going, Going.... Gonna be GONE!

Apologies up front, because this is such a long post. It's full of information that you need to know... but it's just not fun stuff. So please read through and don't get distracted... the best part is the Challenge at the end.

I don't know about you, but I'm really excited about the upcoming new Stampin Up Idea Book & Catalog (IB&C). Normally the IB&C comes out on July 1st each year. This year it will come out on June 1st. That's just a little more than a month away. I can't wait! Stampin Up always amazes me with the new items they come up.
Along with the new IB&C this year, there are lots of changes as well. On a previous post I gave you the list of the stamp sets that will retire on May31, 2012. There are also some accessories that will be retiring as well. Before I give you some information about the items retiring let me go ahead and give you some links.

These links are for the lists in PDF format. They are sorted by page number so you can follow the list along with your catalog.

If you'd like to view pictures you can go to my site HERE. There you can find all the retiring products by category and see pictures of each item. You can also go ahead and purchase those items NOW. These retiring items are available through May 31st... BUT... they are available ONLY while supplies last. So don't wait.

Also notice that some of the items in the Retiring Accessories List are discounted... some up to 70%! That's an awesome deal! Dont miss out!

I know... I know... I said this was going to be long and boring. BUT... if you've have followed some of my previous posts you may remember that I set up a new blog called My Stampin Closet. In an effort to move all my posts about Stampin Up to that blog I'm shortening this post. I'm sort of doubling up right now. You'll find the same posts here and there for a while until I finish the switch. So for the rest of this post and LOTS of important details about the Retiring Accessories List... please head over there and finish the post there. DON'T forget to follow that blog. Soon ALL my SU posts and projects will be there.
AND.... the challenge is posted there! That's the fun part... so don't miss this.

For Everything (Retiring Set) & MDS Downloads

Today has been a busy day. But I did get some stamping in. I started with a card and quickly found that I didn't have all the supplies I needed to complete it. But it gave me the inspiration to move on to the next project... and use what I have ON HAND. LOL!

Retiring May 31, 2012 - For Everything (wood-116954clear-120459)

Click on the links above to purchase 24/7.

For a PDF file of the entire list of retiring stamps click HERE.
To shop for retired sets click HERE. You will also find a picture of all the sets.

I love this stamp set and hate to see that it is retiring. There are lots of images from this set that I like... but ended up only using one. Here's my simple card...

This card came together really easy and really quick. I used the Blossoms Bouquet Triple Layer punch and my Simply Scored to add a little dimension. Hope you enjoy.

Supplies:
One thing I learned while building my Classic Ink Pad collection was that the Stampin Write Markers are AWESOME! I bought the entire color collection of markers before I started building my ink pads. Now I have EVERY color ink that's needed. So no mater what color I need for my project... if I don't have the pad... I've got the marker. For details on joining a Marker Club email me.
***TIP***
I used markers on this card rather than the ink pads.
I did not list the phrase "hello" stamp set. It's from Teeny Tiny Wishes. It's actually "hello baby". I used my Real Red Marker and just colored just the part of the stamp I needed.

AND... Today is Tuesday so new MDS Digital Downloads are available.

Click HERE for your FREE trial version of My Digital Studio!
You can also click on the banner above.

Yeah! Today is the day!

There has been an empty spot on my desk and on a nearby shelf. I recently had to send off BOTH my Expression 2 AND my Imagine. I received my E2 Earlier this week and I just got confirmation from FedEx that my Imagine is on the truck and going to be delivered today. I can't wait!

Ok...so when I said there was an empty space on my desk...well... That wasn't totally accurate. I'm a messy crafter so there is paper and punches and stamps there. So I guess first things first, I need to go get My Cricut Closet cleaned, organized and ready to welcome those Cricuts back into the closet.

I think it's definitely time for another video. What do you guys think? A card? Scrapbook page? 3D item? A tutorial? What would you guys like to see?

Happy Crafting :)
