Cricut Expression 2 Video Series... Part 3

Hello my Cricut family. Just a quick post here. I'm so glad to finally get this Part 3 of the Cricut Expression 2 video series uploaded to YouTube. It's been a long time coming. Now that I got that all taken care of I can finally get on to more videos. I think there is a lot more we can still learn about the CE2. I look forward to sharing more videos with you.

I am excited to bring a new video series to you as well.... the Cricut Explore Series is coming soon!!! Do you  know what that means??? Yep... I got one for Christmas. YEAH!!! And I absolutely LOVE it. But... I love all my bugs. So I won't be abandoning any of them. This is going to be an exciting year.

Here's your video. Hope this series inspired you to get your Cricut out and make something.

Happy Crafting!!!

Free Images - CCR Exclusives, 3D Lanterns

Wow! Happy November! Can you believe that October is over? It flew by. I don't know where you guys are but we had our first glimpse of snow here in Southern Indiana. Halloween we had a mix of sleet and hail and then later had flakes. They didn't do much. But still… scary sight. I don't like the cold and the stuff that comes with it. LOL

So this weeks Free Images is another one that I'm not super excited about. I knew two things… I didn't have a lot of time this week… and that since I wasn't super excited about the 3D Lanterns that I probably wouldn't be making one.

But I still want to share the possibilities with you. Because although my initial response was… eh… it's mainly because there doesn't appear to be many options with this one. Maybe how you display them is where some creativity can play in. And maybe you will love it. So lets at least look at some of what is out there.

This is the first image that I came across that really caught my eye. This is by Beth Denton. I found this on Pinterest. She doesn't have a blog but she has a Cricut board and some others that I am now following. Check her out.

Here's another by Beth. She's using tracing paper.

There weren't very many. But here is another that I found. She used black card stock and vellum. These are by Golden Leaf Scrapbook. Check out her blog. Or click on the images below to go straight to her 3D Lanterns post.

That's pretty much all you get on a quick search. Of course here is what the images actually look like although both of the above projects I found they used all the images.

Hope you all enjoy this weeks free images. I'm ready to look into some new Cricut Craft Room videos. Maybe even play with Design Space a little more… except that will just increase my desire to buy the Cricut Explore… I WANT ONE!!!! LOL

If you come up with something cool with the 3D Lanterns let me know. I'd love to see some interesting takes on this one.

New Halloween Sign with this weeks Free Images

So… I've finally got my computer set up and my Expression 2 up to date and working. It's so nice to have it connected to a computer again. I am so totally lost without Cricut Craft Room. I love that program so much.

So here is this weeks project I made using the Free Images. I'd like to try and make a new project every week with the Free Cuts. It's really a nice program that Cricut offers and lets you try out cartridges without having to buy them.

I took this little frame that I got from Goodwill for $1 to make a cute little Halloween frame. I took the glass out because I couldn't get a decent pic without all the glare. And again… still using my phone camera. It's hard to get really good pics.

This weeks Free Images are from the cartridge Classroom: October & November. I was so surprised that when I did a google search and a search on Pinterest and even on Cricuts projects page that there really weren't any projects. I need to find out how to do a link party going so that I can see what everyone else can do with this free cut.

Click on the first image to take you to the Free Images page and click on the second pic to take you to this cartridges Digital Handbook. I will try to find out tonight how to do the link party. Maybe we can see some of your  projects.

I created this project in Cricut Craft Room but it would be very simple to do straight from your Cricut. My frame is 8x10. One tip I'll give is that I used the ghosts from the Project tab and cut them apart for the Happy Halloween title. This way I could make them a separate color.

Can't wait to make my next project. May be making some more signs. Not sure yet. What would you guys like to see?

I've had fun the last two days making these projects. So glad to have my room set up! :)

Cricut Craftroom Exculsive 3D Ornaments

So... On Wednesday I jumped on Cricut.com to see what new cartridge we could cut for FREE this week. I have to say I was disappointed to find it had not been  updated. Of course I waited till Thursday but still no change. Today I got on there and STILL no new cartridge.

That made me decide to just take a look and see what was on Craft Room. So I logged onto CCR and took a look at the CCR Exclusives. The 3D Bows are not available free any longer and and instead 3D Ornaments is free. Not sure where the glitch is. Maybe it's me... LOL! Here's what you get to do this week.

So maybe you aren't ready for Christmas decor yet. I know I'm not. So I went searching for some ideas. You can find everything you need at Cricut.com. I did a quick search in their projects library and found this. I thought it was more appropriate for the season.

These are all made with the 3D Ornaments Cartridge that you can use for FREE this week. And of course... I fear spiders....  (yes, even paper ones). SOOOOO.... he's out. I think the little pumpkin ornament is adorable. So I think I'll make him. Click on the pics and it will take you to Cricut.com for all the details you need to make each of them.

Click below for the Digtial Handbook. This will help tell you how to put your ornaments together as well. Very useful.
So that lead me to another cool thing that I learned today. Many of you may already know, but for those of you who don't... they have full directions for each of these projects. They provide a PDF file with complete instructions that you can print out. They even take it a step further and include a CCR file for you. All you have to do is download the file and open it in your CCR. How easy is that!!!! Then all you have to do is get the paper ready.

If you are ready for some Christmas decor... or just want to get some cut while the cartridge is free... I found some more cool projects online using this cartridge. Check these photos out. Just click on the pic and a window will open separately taking you to the authors page.

This one I thought was an interesting piece of home decor. I wouldn't have thought of this. I found this on the HSN website. Jinger Adams is the creator.

Enjoy this weeks FREE Cartridge.

SUO Challenge #41 - Easy Events Card Box and Cards

Happy Thursday!
Well... I had hoped to have a video to share with you today. However... my three year old has had a fever over 103 for the past two days. Today he is all better...YEAH!!!... but he's still home with me. He has decided to exert all the energy he missed out on the past two days TODAY. So... no video. BUT... there WILL be one tomorrow. If nothing else I will at least be doing the giveaway that I've been talking about.

I do have a project for you though. I worked on it here and there while James slept. I hope you enjoy it.
My inspiration came from the SUO Challenge of the week. It was "Think Spring". I decided to make a small card box with some 3x3 cards. This is the first time I entered a challenge for SUO. My entry is for the front of the box.

The cards measure 3x3. I used my Stampin Up Simply Scored to make matching envelopes and I used the Simply Scored and the Diagonal Plate to make the box. Maybe I can do a video tomorrow on how I made the box and the envelopes :)

Also... I check out all these blogs and I love the way they photograph their pictures. I'm not so great and I'm experimenting. I made my own little photo box today but it needs some tweaking. I had seen a YouTube video on how to make it but I can't find the video now so I kind of made it up from memory and I know it's horribly wrong. But it is how I took my photos today. I would love your ideas and comments about how YOU take your photos of your projects.

And I always love how someone takes a "sneak peak" preview of a card or just highlights part of it. My cards today are pretty simple but I wanted to at least take one picture like that, just to see if I could. Again... still working on that. But here's my pic. Tell me what you think.

It lacks that "wow" factor but I'm not sure how to get it. Somebody want to help me out?
