Crash! Boom! Pow!

Here are this weeks FREE images. When I seen them I immediately thought of my son. He is six and is all about all the superheroes. Spiderman, Batman, Iron Man, Captain America, Superman, Hulk... all of them!

Aren't these cupcake toppers great!
Click the image below to create these in Design Space.

Then I did a search on Pinterest. I found some cute ideas.

The link on this one was gone. But I still thought it was worth sharing.

This one looks like a lot of fun too. No web page but click on the pic to link to the creators Pinterest Board.

And again... I mentioned my son loves super heroes. So this one is one of my favorites. I found it on the Cricut Projects page. Click on the image for more details.

Oh... do you remember last weeks Free Images... Movie Night? You can still create with those today. This is your last chance. AND... Even better... you can go to Cricut Design Space and someone has already create a file for you. Everything is laid out. All you have to do is open the file and click Make It Now. Access Cricut Free Images

Happy Monday!

Well… it is Monday when I'm typing this. I have a feeling I won't be able to get it completed and posted until late Monday evening. So you probably won't even see it till Tuesday. LOL

Anyhow… Happy DAY!!!

I was cruising around Cricut.com today and was looking for the Weekly Free Images. It's actually a pretty cute digital set. I'm hoping that tomorrow I can make a few cards to put back in my stash.

This weeks free images come from the Movie Night Digital Set. It contains the following images.

These images are available to design with at any time. But you are able to cut with them for free during January 21 - January 28th. I'm posting this kinda late… so HURRY!!!

Here's some cute ideas that Cricut has put together on how to use this set. I think the card would be great for using to give a movie gift certificate or gift card to someone. I'm hoping to make a few tomorrow… or even tonight… and put back in my stash.

Click on the image to take you to Cricut.com and scroll to the bottom of the page for more great projects using this weekly free image set.

OR…. you can watch the video below and I will guide you through the process of finding the weekly images. This is a great incentive that Cricut gives us each week. I think it's the perfect way to get our creative juices going and make great projects without having to invest in a lot of cartridges.

Any suggestions on my next video? I'd love to hear from you!

Happy Crafting!!!!

Free Images - CCR Exclusives, 3D Lanterns

Wow! Happy November! Can you believe that October is over? It flew by. I don't know where you guys are but we had our first glimpse of snow here in Southern Indiana. Halloween we had a mix of sleet and hail and then later had flakes. They didn't do much. But still… scary sight. I don't like the cold and the stuff that comes with it. LOL

So this weeks Free Images is another one that I'm not super excited about. I knew two things… I didn't have a lot of time this week… and that since I wasn't super excited about the 3D Lanterns that I probably wouldn't be making one.

But I still want to share the possibilities with you. Because although my initial response was… eh… it's mainly because there doesn't appear to be many options with this one. Maybe how you display them is where some creativity can play in. And maybe you will love it. So lets at least look at some of what is out there.

This is the first image that I came across that really caught my eye. This is by Beth Denton. I found this on Pinterest. She doesn't have a blog but she has a Cricut board and some others that I am now following. Check her out.

Here's another by Beth. She's using tracing paper.

There weren't very many. But here is another that I found. She used black card stock and vellum. These are by Golden Leaf Scrapbook. Check out her blog. Or click on the images below to go straight to her 3D Lanterns post.

That's pretty much all you get on a quick search. Of course here is what the images actually look like although both of the above projects I found they used all the images.

Hope you all enjoy this weeks free images. I'm ready to look into some new Cricut Craft Room videos. Maybe even play with Design Space a little more… except that will just increase my desire to buy the Cricut Explore… I WANT ONE!!!! LOL

If you come up with something cool with the 3D Lanterns let me know. I'd love to see some interesting takes on this one.

This Weeks Free Cut - Zombie Cartridge

Well... last week I shared the FREE CUT of the week with you and the sign that I made using it. I had planned on making something each week and sharing it with you. So when Wednesday came I was excited to see what the free images were this week. Well... It's now Tuesday and I still have't done anything with it. The truth is... I'm just not overly fond of the images. So I haven't been able to come up with any ideas.

First of all... Here are the images. Click on the pic to take you to the digital handbook

About the closest thing I could come up with was using the last symbol to make napkin rings for a zombie party. LOL.

So I decided to see if I could find anything on other blogs to share with you. Wow... there are very few. Here's what I found.

I thought this card was cute. I found it on Pinterest but the blog it was linked to no longer exists. I can tell you that they used the Zombie cartridge and My Pink Stamper stamp set.

Here's a cute idea... skull streamers. And you could do this with the heart and the other symbol (what is that called anyways? LOL). Cute idea.. again... no blog linked. But if you click on the pic it will take you to the pinterest pinner where I found it.

This is super cute! Never thought to use a zombie cartridge for Valentines Day. But it's cute. LOL.. and I actually found a link to a blog. Click on the pic to see the post of the card She has some other really cute stuff. Visit her site at Sara W Andrews

And one more.. You'll find this one at Cricut.com Project Center. There are step by step instructions on how to make it. It's actually pretty cute too. Maybe I'll make it just for fun.

Well... that's all I got for you today. Not every cartridge speaks to us. This one wasn't quite my style. But I did find some cute things it could be used for. Tomorrow is another Wednesday... new images to choose from. Can't wait to see what they are.

Still wanting to find out how to do a linking party. I want to see what others are making.
Happy Crafting!

New Halloween Sign with this weeks Free Images

So… I've finally got my computer set up and my Expression 2 up to date and working. It's so nice to have it connected to a computer again. I am so totally lost without Cricut Craft Room. I love that program so much.

So here is this weeks project I made using the Free Images. I'd like to try and make a new project every week with the Free Cuts. It's really a nice program that Cricut offers and lets you try out cartridges without having to buy them.

I took this little frame that I got from Goodwill for $1 to make a cute little Halloween frame. I took the glass out because I couldn't get a decent pic without all the glare. And again… still using my phone camera. It's hard to get really good pics.

This weeks Free Images are from the cartridge Classroom: October & November. I was so surprised that when I did a google search and a search on Pinterest and even on Cricuts projects page that there really weren't any projects. I need to find out how to do a link party going so that I can see what everyone else can do with this free cut.

Click on the first image to take you to the Free Images page and click on the second pic to take you to this cartridges Digital Handbook. I will try to find out tonight how to do the link party. Maybe we can see some of your  projects.

I created this project in Cricut Craft Room but it would be very simple to do straight from your Cricut. My frame is 8x10. One tip I'll give is that I used the ghosts from the Project tab and cut them apart for the Happy Halloween title. This way I could make them a separate color.

Can't wait to make my next project. May be making some more signs. Not sure yet. What would you guys like to see?

I've had fun the last two days making these projects. So glad to have my room set up! :)

Bless This Home is the Free Cut this week!

Last week I tried hard to post the Free Cut of the week. But as hard as I tried I couldn't get excited about it so every time I tried to blog about it... nothing came out.

Not a problem this week. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this week's cut.

I can't wait to make one of these. While I love my Cricut and all things to do with paper crafting... I am also very passionate about woodworking. So I always love projects that allow me to combine my two loves. Watch for a post this week where I show you how to make this. But there is a tutorial on the Cricut site on how to make this project as well. Click below.

When you go into Cricut CraftRoom and just add these words to your mat... they will all come out the same size. If you click on the tutorial you will find a Cricut cut file with the dimensions you see above.

There are NOT a lot of projects out there in the cyber world using this cut. I was only able to find one. But I wanted to share it with you.

I think that you can find these wood blocks already made at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. But I though this was cute as well.

I had the idea of getting a frame from Goodwill or the ReStore and frame this cut. I couldn't find a great example of what I had in mind... but this is pretty close. And of course.. you could use one of the other great fonts to make one of this for your family. But I want to do one with the Bless This Home cut.

And don't limit yourself. You don't need to scrounge around for some lumber to try this cut. This is a great file. You could cut this out and put it directly on your wall... on a mirror... anything.

Oooohhhh..... here is another great idea that I thought of. Again... these are examples of what you could do with this cut. Pick up a tile at your local hardware store or the ReStore and add your vinyl cut to the tile and put it on a stand. I actually really like this idea.

I would link these projects to their creators but I pulled them from Pinterest and when I clicked on them they did not take me to any blogs. So please forgive me for not giving credit for them.

Since there are not a lot of projects using this cut I encourage you to make something this week and share it. I can't wait to see what you make!!!

AND... how awesome is this.... You can cut it free this week... but if you love it as much as I do you can purchase it digitally for only $1.99.

This Weeks Free Cut - Winter Lace

I know there are places all over that have had a lot more snow than we did here in Southern Indiana. But it's actually been a LONG time since we've had this much. My kids missed a week of school. And looks like we will get another round next week. Here's a pic of just a taste of what we have going on. And the day after I cleared that path to my workshop... it was covered completely again., as if I had never cleared it in the first place.

So for me... this weeks Free Cut is very appropriate... Winter Lace!

Now, this is a cartridge that I do own. It was given to me by a dear friend. But I've not ever used it. So this week I thought I'd do something different.

Here is the cover for the Winter Lace Seasonal Cartridge. It has 20 2D snowflakes and 10 3D snowflakes. For the next week you can design some projects using this great cartridge in Cricut Craft Room AND cut them for FREE. If you like the cartridge... you can purchase it digitally right from Provo Craft for $14.99. Just click on the pic below.

So I decided to search for some inspiration for a project using this cartridge. Here's what I came up with.

The first thing I did was Google it and this wreath jumped out at me immediately. It's actually uses Winter Is In the Air and Winter Lace. But you could easily just use Winter Lace. The link took me to the blog My Paper Crafting. com. There are several other projects with snowflakes, many using Winter Lace.

And then of course I went to the place where I KNEW I'd be on overload with ideas... Pinterest. The link took me to a site called Scrapping Mommy. The link didn't work but you can still click on the pic and go to the site. Love this snowflake card. Looks like it's a Christmas card. But since that's gone... I'd maybe send it as a "thinking of you" card or "thank you". The options are limited by your imagination. What got my attention with this card was more about the great snowlfakes.

Then I fell in love with this card. I'm thinking about making it and framing it as a gift. While it also uses Witner Wonderland and the swirl is from Ashlyns Alphabet. I'm sure I can find something to replace it. That's one of the great things about Cricut. There are so many different images to choose from. Go over to Popsicle Toes to check her blog out.

I found that there are not a lot of pins for this cartridge. So I encourage you to add some of your own. And check out my Pinterest board. I've created a board for Winter Lace and will be creating one for each new Free Cut of the week. Check it out here! Check out my other boards for Cricut while you are there :)

Well... there are a lot of options out there for Winter Lace. Don't forget those Christmas pics and other winter pics for your scrapbook. So here's one last pic. Uses multiple other cartridges as well. Check it out at Scrap This Save That.

I would love for you guys to share the pins you've found as well and to hear any feedback. Hope you guys have a great weekend!

Cricut Craft Room Series - How To Use the Auto Fill Feature

Well....January is almost over. Have you heard about all the cool stuff going on with Cricut? They have a new machine called the Cricut Explore. Very cool! Not sure when I will be able to get my hands on one but I can't wait. They also have a new design space that will go with it. I'm interested in seeing what this means for Criut Craft Room. Hopefully nothing. I haven't really heard much about it yet. If you haven't seen what it's going to look like yet... here is a little clip from the Provo Craft website.

Anyhow... I am a huge fan of CCR and I am here to share a quick video for you with a tip on how to use one of the features in CCR. It's the "Auto Fill" feature. It does come in quite handy and saves time when you are working on multiples of an image. I know as Valentines Day comes it will certainly be helpful.

So here's the great thing about this feature. Say you are making 20 Valentines for your child to take to school. So you have 20 hearts of the same size to cut out. Well... without this feature you would have to add the same image to your mat 20 times. But... if you use the autofill you just add the image to your screen once and tell it to fill the page. Or... depending on the size... you can tell CCR you want 20 of that image and it will populate your mat with that many hearts.

You know what.... It's much easier to SHOW you what I'm talking about. Here's a short video to show you just how easy it is to use this feature.

Oh.. and here is the FREE CUT going on right now. Sorry I haven't shared it sooner. I was hoping for something Valentines Day related. Maybe next week will be.

Today is the LAST DAY! So if you want to cut these guys out for free... head over there today. Just click on the pic.

Cricut Classroom Exlusives - Classroom - October & November Cut Free for a Week

Ok... I know... I know! I didn't publish a video for a year and then I finally get one up and 2 days later it's obsolete. BUMMER!

So if you read my last post and watched my video on how to get to the Free Cut of the Week and then tried it today... You'd find that Cricut redesigned their entire website. So now the video is pretty much useless. When I went to log on today to find out what the new free cuts were I was a little panicked. Remember what I said on the video... "I'm glad they didn't discontinue the free cuts"...? I thought I had jinxed it and was so bummed. I frantically tried to find where it could be. I searched that site head to toe... no luck!!!

Well... good news. It is still available. And I'm super excited about this weeks cuts. Cricut Craftroom Exclusives: Classroom - October & November. Love this cartridge.

At first I thought it was just going to be those four cuts... and I was excited about them alone. Then I clicked on the details page and saw all the rest. Woohoo! This is a great sampling to cut from this week. Can't wait. My daughter and I are in the process of coming up with a project to share with you so you can take advantage of these great cuts.

So... I mentioned that the link to see what the new free cuts are is gone. I figured out how to get to it two ways. One... I just followed the link from my previous post and it updated to this weeks cuts. So you can click on any of the previous links to the free cuts and that will get you there. Two... I called Cricut Support. The nice lady I spoke to obviously has had this question more than once today. The link is not yet available on the Cricut site. However, on the main page, under the banner you can sign up for emails and you will get a weekly email that will have a link and share with you the free cuts. Eventually they will have a link on the site.

So... Happy cutting! I would love for you to share some of your ideas for this great cartridge. I'm hoping that by Friday we will have a video posted with some projects using these cuts. I can't wait!!!! :)

FREE to cut! Love!

Ok... so this is one of those things that Cricut has been doing for a while and I was afraid it had come and gone. Love that they are still doing this.

So if you aren't familiar... Cricut has content that you can cut FREE for a week. Each week they change. I'm super bummed that I didn't get anything cut from last weeks. It was . I didn't realize it till after it was gone.

So here is this weeks FREE cuts.

These are both great but the Happy Hauntings is great for the upcoming holiday. Don't miss out like I did last week. Get that Cricut out and get to cutting. You've got two more days.

So... Definitely will be cutting some of these out... but I also can't wait to see what is net weeks free cuts :)

So... do you know how this works? Log on to your Cricut CraftRoom. The two above carts will show up in bold as available to cut.

Here's a quick video on how to get to the cartridges to take advantage of this great opportunity that Cricut gives us.

I'm so excited. I know.... I know... the sound is crappy. The video quality isn't that great. And I stumbled over my words a few times. But hey... I'm BACK! And I am super excited about bringing you more videos. And I promise... It won't be another year. Even if I have to use my cruddy laptop, my creaky tripod and have horrible sound. I WILL bring you more videos. And it's all about the content... right? LOL. It's about what you learn. So if you learn something or enjoy my videos... that's all that matters.
See ya soon! :)

Cricut Craftroom Exculsive 3D Ornaments

So... On Wednesday I jumped on Cricut.com to see what new cartridge we could cut for FREE this week. I have to say I was disappointed to find it had not been  updated. Of course I waited till Thursday but still no change. Today I got on there and STILL no new cartridge.

That made me decide to just take a look and see what was on Craft Room. So I logged onto CCR and took a look at the CCR Exclusives. The 3D Bows are not available free any longer and and instead 3D Ornaments is free. Not sure where the glitch is. Maybe it's me... LOL! Here's what you get to do this week.

So maybe you aren't ready for Christmas decor yet. I know I'm not. So I went searching for some ideas. You can find everything you need at Cricut.com. I did a quick search in their projects library and found this. I thought it was more appropriate for the season.

These are all made with the 3D Ornaments Cartridge that you can use for FREE this week. And of course... I fear spiders....  (yes, even paper ones). SOOOOO.... he's out. I think the little pumpkin ornament is adorable. So I think I'll make him. Click on the pics and it will take you to Cricut.com for all the details you need to make each of them.

Click below for the Digtial Handbook. This will help tell you how to put your ornaments together as well. Very useful.
So that lead me to another cool thing that I learned today. Many of you may already know, but for those of you who don't... they have full directions for each of these projects. They provide a PDF file with complete instructions that you can print out. They even take it a step further and include a CCR file for you. All you have to do is download the file and open it in your CCR. How easy is that!!!! Then all you have to do is get the paper ready.

If you are ready for some Christmas decor... or just want to get some cut while the cartridge is free... I found some more cool projects online using this cartridge. Check these photos out. Just click on the pic and a window will open separately taking you to the authors page.
Cricut The Official Blog. Author: Jana Eubank

Typecast Creative. Author: Curt Jensen

This one I thought was an interesting piece of home decor. I wouldn't have thought of this. I found this on the HSN website. Jinger Adams is the creator.

Enjoy this weeks FREE Cartridge.
